Our Story
The Story Behind My First Steps in Real Estate
My name is Arelys Zúñiga, a local real estate agent proudly born and raised in Pilon de Pavones, a small coastal town in the southern zone of Costa Rica. Coming from a large and close-knit family, I learned early on the importance of strong relationships, hard work, and staying connected to my community.
Together with my husband, Randy Walker, we’ve built a life rooted in family and entrepreneurship. We are the proud parents of Nikol Walker and Kyle Walker, and sixteen years ago, we took a leap of faith and founded Pavones Surf Shop and Factory, specializing in the handcrafted production of surfboards. Through this business, we were fortunate to meet many travelers, investors, and locals — and we soon noticed a growing interest in buying property in the area.
At first, we began offering real estate support informally, simply helping friends and neighbors connect with interested buyers. These early efforts were successful and deeply fulfilling — they helped me realize how much I loved guiding people through important life decisions. As demand increased, I felt the need to grow professionally and improve the quality of service I could provide.
To sharpen my skills, I joined a globally recognized real estate brand where I received training, experience, and the tools to elevate my work. While this opportunity helped me grow, I eventually felt called to offer something more personal, something that truly reflected the spirit of Pavones. I wanted to provide real estate services rooted in local knowledge, trust, and personalized attention — and that’s what led me to become an independent real estate agent.
Today, I specialize in the sale and rental of properties including lots, homes, farms, vacation rentals, and local businesses. I take pride in offering transparent, informed, and legally sound services, backed by my deep understanding of Costa Rica’s National and Cadastral Registry.
