The Story Behind My First Steps in Pavones Real Estate
My name is Arelys Zúñiga, a Pavones real estate agent proudly born and raised in Pilón de Pavones, Costa Rica, a small coastal town in the southern zone of Costa Rica. Growing up here gave me a deep connection to the land, the people, and the lifestyle that make Pavones real estate so unique. Coming from a large and close-knit family, I learned early on the importance of strong relationships, hard work, and staying closely connected to my community.
Together with my husband, Randy Walker, we have built a life rooted in family and entrepreneurship. We are the proud parents of Nikol Walker and Kyle Walker, and sixteen years ago we took a leap of faith and founded Pavones Surf Shop and Factory, specializing in the handcrafted production of surfboards. Through this business, we met travelers, investors, and locals from around the world, and we quickly noticed a growing interest in owning Pavones properties and investing in the area.
At first, I began offering real estate support informally, helping friends and neighbors connect with buyers interested in Pavones real estate. These early experiences were both successful and deeply fulfilling, and they helped me realize how much I enjoyed guiding people through important life decisions related to property ownership and investment. As demand grew, I knew it was time to strengthen my professional skills and elevate the level of service I could offer.
To do so, I joined a globally recognized real estate brand, where I gained formal training, hands-on experience, and the tools needed to work at a higher professional level. While this chapter helped me grow, I eventually felt called to create something more personal — a service that truly reflected the spirit of Pavones. I wanted to offer Pavones real estate services rooted in local knowledge, trust, and personalized attention, which led me to become an independent real estate agent and establish First Point Real Estate.
Today, I specialize in the sale and rental of Pavones properties, including lots, homes, farms, vacation rentals, and local businesses. I take pride in offering transparent, informed, and legally sound services, supported by my in-depth understanding of Costa Rica’s National and Cadastral Registry.
